Winter clothing orders have arrived! This includes both the Crewneck Sweaters and Softshell Jackets. Please come to the EngSoc office this week for clothing pickup. Please bring your student card and note that only the student that placed the order will be allowed to pick up the order. Also, we now have phone cardholders for sale in the EngSoc Office alongside the regularly stocked merchandise, in both black and blue colour schemes. If there are any questions or concerns regarding merchandise, please send an email to email@example.com for the quickest response.
It’s that time in the semester that we’ve all been waiting for… Guelph Engineering Society is now calling on all talented folks to perform at this semester’s COFFEE HOUSE on Monday, March 18th! If you sing, dance, play an instrument, hula-hoop, sword-swallow, or are interested in showcasing any other talents, we want you! All acts and performers are welcome. Performing not really your thing? Well, then take a break from studying, grab some hot chocolate and watch your fellow students perform.

Your fellow engineering students will be performing A Very Magical Engineering Musical on Saturday, March 30th at 6:30PM! That’s less than 4 weeks away! Come support your fellow peers and have a good time in a musical filled with catchy songs, hilarious engineering / Aggie jokes, and even a special appearance by Dr. Demers!
Tickets will be going on sale at ENGSOC on March 7th for $10, and the first 50 tickets sold also come with a FREE limited edition Cheers & Gears patch! 👏👏
ENGINEERING CHANGE LAB WORKSHOP

Making the world a better place for all: Engineering and Technological Stewardship
Join us for an interactive session that will inspire you to think differently about the relationship between technology and society. You’ll learn about Technological Stewardship, why it is important, and how to start applying it to your engineering work — and, in the process, help make the world a better place for all. Opportunities for engaging further after the session will be included.

ENGINEERING SOCIETY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
The nominees for next year’s Engineering Society President are in, and the campaigning period is on until Tuesday evening. The election will open on Wednesday March 6 at 7:00AM and will close at 11:45PM on Thursday March 7.

The Engineering Grad Party will be hosted at the Guelph Concert Theatre this Friday, March 8th. The event will be for ages 19+ and will have a TROPICAL theme so come in your most easy-breasy-floral outfits and be prepared to get down.
The event will take place from 8 pm – 2 am and food will be served from 9 pm – 12 am.
Admission is 5$, or FREE if you’re a graduating student!
Tickets are being sold in the Engsoc office.
Come out for a TROPICAL time in Guelph you have yet to experience.
HOW TO: NEGOTIATE YOUR SALARY
This event is open to all students at the university who are interested in learning general tips and appropriate times to do salary negotiation. Cherolyn Knapp from Nelson, Watson LPP will be coming in to do a seminar type event and provide insight on how, when and the appropriate way to do salary negotiation. She will have certain tips that are swayed towards males and females but the general content presented will be applicable for everyone who attends. There will be free pizza and drinks for all those who attend and the event will run in Thorn 1002 from 6:30-8:00 on Thursday March 14th. Come learn how to make MONEY!!!!
SEMI ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Guelph Engineering Society’s Semi Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday March 20 at 6:30PM. The members of the Engineering Society will present the work that they have been doing in the past semester, and the constitution will be opened for amendments. Pizza will be provided during the meeting. If you have a motion that you wish to put forth, see the motion form attached at the bottom, and check out http://www.guelphengsoc.com/resources/official-documentation/ for the most recent version of the constitution.
The engineering squash tournament will be held in the Gryphons athletics centre on Saturday March 9th from 1-5pm. Cost has been changed to $5per person. Sign up in the EngSoc office!

CALL FOR COLLEGE ROYAL VOLUNTEERS
Every year for College Royal we open up thorn for families to come do fun activities with us engineers! This year College Royal is March 16-17, 9am-5pm Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday. We are looking for volunteers to run an egg drop challenge for the kids and to make/hand-out cotton candy (you don’t need to volunteer the entire day)! Hello Guelph Engineers! Our school is proud to host the 41st Ontario Engineering Competition in January 2020, in which 16 universities from all across Ontario will be competing. Thus, this will require that we bring together a team of bright and committed engineers that would be interested in Competition Team Leads, in which they will lead and organize one of the eight competitions. The Engineering Society is holding its annual elections for council positions. If you’re interested in getting more involved with engineering social events, student initiatives, and services to the engineering students, consider applying to EngSoc! The nomination period for the remaining executive officer roles (Vice Presidents) is from March 8 to March 12 at 5:00PM. Nomination forms can be submitted starting on March 8th, forms can be picked up at the EngSoc Office, or printed from the attachment on this email.
