Come out to Casino Night! On Tuesday November 6th the Engineering Alumni Association is running a night of games, networking, and prizes in the THRN Atrium!
Prizes include an industry tour (different places depending on your discipline) a meeting with an alumni who will help you with resume/interview skills + free headshots, and a free lunch with the Dean of engineering!

ADVENTURES IN ARDUINO

This year, engineering schools all across Canada are competing to see who can donate the most blood to Canadian Blood Services, and the school with the most donations will win a prize! Join us on Thursday, November 6th at 5:30 as Guelph Engineering heads to Canadian Blood Services to donate blood. Transportation will be provided, we will meet at the Mountain Hall Parking Lot. You can make a difference – just one blood donation can save up to three lives! BRUCE POWER NETWORKING AND INFORMATION NIGHT
Interested in the power industry? Looking to make professional connections? If you’re an engineering or science student and looking for internships or full-time jobs, come out on the 20th of November to the University of Guelph in ALEX 100 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm to learn more about Bruce Power, network with current employees, and submit your resumes! There will be recruiters and line managers available to answer your questions and help you kickstart your career in the power industry. GIS OPEN LAB TUESDAY
Guelph Innovations Society will be having open lab hours from 10:15 AM to 7 PM in RICH 1529. Drop by our lab space to work on school projects, use hand tools, and learn about producing your projects on our 3D printers.
ONE IN FIVE WEEK
Hey Guelph engineers! It’s 1 in 5 Week, which is a week of awareness for the 1 in 5 Canadians struggling with mental health problems and illnesses. Wellness in Engineering is running a series of activities this week in the Wellness lounge to de-stress come out and have fun!
SEMI ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Our Semi Annual General Meeting (SAGM) has been moved to November 14th, beginning at 5:30pm.
SAGM is a time for the Engineering Society to review what has been accomplished throughout the semester, and what changes need to be made. The beginning of the meeting is a quick review of accountability, so if you have any questions for any of our members please feel free to attend this portion. (Accountability typically takes between 20-30 minutes) The rest of the meeting is used to make changes to the constitution and policy manuals which govern the way EngSoc is run. If you have any changes you would like to motion for please fill out the below form. All relevant documents are attached, and can be also found on our website. The deadline for motions to be submitted has been extended to Sunday November 11th at 11:50pm. (Note: changes submitted to the form sent out previously will not be reviewed, please reach out with any questions regarding this)

It will be held November 17th from 5-9 pm in the field house. You can sign up as a team or as a free agent for $5 each at the EngSoc office.
SOUTH WESTERN ONTARIO RETREAT – NOVEMBER 16TH TO 18TH
Looking to dive deeper into the Sustainable Development Goals? Join us at South Western Ontario Retreat (SWOR), here at Guelph from November 16th to 18th! SWOR will cost $22 to attend. This gets you a spot and lunch Saturday and Sunday.
