GET A JOB IN YOUR STREAM MIXER
Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, February 6th, the WEAO/OWWA Student Chapter is hosting a mixer in the 74 Lounge at Brass Taps in the UC (back room closest to the entrance). The “Get a Job in Your Stream” mixer begins at 7:00, and is geared towards students in Engineering hoping to pursue water related fields. They will have guests representing various career paths such as academia, consulting, and NGOs. Each visitor will each give a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to network and communicate with students and industry professionals in a casual setting. Make some connections and take a step forward towards your future career!
INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMPETITION
The Guelph Innovations Society in partnership with the Guelph Entrepreneurship Society, is pleased to present the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition ( previously known as the Gryphons NEST Competition). The competition is set to take place on Saturday February 9th, 2019! The first place prize is $1000! Additionally, there are more amazing prizes to be won and food will be provided!
This competition is open to all student and majors across both the engineering and business faculties. Teams will be challenged to identify, innovate, and create a business solution to a real world problem. Teams will be evaluated on how well they identify their problem, the rationale and reasoning behind their problem, the creativeness and feasibility of their solution, and the feasibility and sustainability of their business application of the solution.

PRESENT AROUND THE WORLD COMPETITION
The Institution of Engineering and Technology is hosting their annual ‘Present Around the World’ Competition. To compete you simply have to give a presentation and be prepared to answer questions about and engineering or technology related subject. ESSCO HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TRYOUTS
Tryouts for the ESSCO engineering hockey tournament will be held this Saturday, February 2nd from 10-11 pm at the Gryphons Rink. It is a Co-Ed team, and the competition will take place on St.Pattys Weekend (March 17th). No charge to try out. Sign up in the EngSoc office!

UTENSILS NOW IN THORNBOUROUGH
Good news GE, you no longer have to leave Thorn to get a fork when you forget to bring one! You are now able to find utensils in Thornborough (provided by Hospitality Services), which will help reduce the amount of waste that we produce. The utensils will be available from the cashier at the Tim Hortons in the Think Tank, and can be returned to the bus bins on top of the garbage’s around the building.
