ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS WEEKLY MEETING – THURSDAY NOVEMBER 15TH, 6:30-7:30PM
Since the dawn of humanity, we have been drawn to the waters as a seemingly boundless source of potential and resources. In recent times, however, we are realizing that these resources are not nearly as boundless as we once believed, with fisheries across the world experiencing declines in catch rates. But how recent really is this state of declination? Many people all across the globe still rely on our waters for sustenance; how do we ensure these waters can continue to supply this demand? Join us Thursday to discuss “shifting baselines,” the current state of world fisheries, and the future of supplying a populace dependant on the spoils of the sea.
