What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: In the Guelph Engineering community, we’re all about having a good time with friends and classmates, getting to know people from all years, and helping each other out with those crazy difficult heat & mass problems. Throw in some blue mohawks, awesome events, lots of school and engineering spirit, some beer, coveralls and hard hats, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a great engineering experience.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: The Beat Stuff – by Hannah Georgas. This song has been #1 on my ‘top 100’ playlist for over a year now. It’s bubbly, bright, and a whole lot of fun. You should definitely give it a listen!

Hey folks! I’m Kallie [kay-lee] and I will be your EngSoc President for 2011-2012. My job on council is to make sure that everyone else is doing their jobs, keep council running smoothly, and to be the representative for Guelph Engineering. You can usually find me hanging around THRN in one of the computer labs or the lounge, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! I’ll be more than happy to help you out. This will be my fourth and final year on council, so I’m hoping to make it a great one!

VP External | John James Cunningham III legally, but most people call me Jamie

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: What does engineering mean to me: It means 4 awesome years of school, 48months of underpaid work, and a lifetime of memories. Guelph Engineering is the best thing to ever happen to me. Simple as that. Work hard play harder.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. This is probably the best theme song ever.

I'm the vice president external for 2012. I am a fun loving individual who is anything but ordinary. My biggest passion in life is cars and engines. I've built several high power motors over the years. I am a mac user. I like going out to the bars. I love THE RANCH. My goals this year are to do a great job and graduate. Im very approachable so if you ever want to talk to me just approach me. My motto in engineering is to not measure twice and cut once, but to cut big and trim to fit.

VP Internal | Michelle Teepell

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: It’s the coolest way there is to love math.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: “Juicy” by Notorious B.I.G. because it is the greatest song of all time and if you catch me in a good moment, I may rap the entirety of it to you a capella… maybe (it’s happened).

There was a time, a time before CSA. When the Engineering Society reigned supreme. When people believed everything they heard from EngSoc. This was an age when only Engineering students were allowed to roam campus. And in Guelph, one student was more awesome than the rest. Her name was Michelle Teepell. She was like a god walking amongst mere mortals. She had a voice that could make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo. In other words, Michelle Teepell was the balls.

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: To me Guelph engineering is all about having a great time with people who are just as nerdy as I am. It means walking down a hall where you’re always bound to see a familiar face and having the best time ever while wearing your coveralls.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: We like to party! (The Vengabus)- Vengaboys. Take a trip down memory lane to a time when the clothes were bright, mullets were cool, and the music was hoppin’.

Ola amigos, I’m Kristina and I’m one of your VP So-chills for the upcoming year. My other half, Zoey Zimmer, and I could not be more stoked to run some awesome events this year and show you guys what Guelph Engineering is all about!

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: It means hanging out with people that love numbers and challenges as much as me. It also means not being judged for wanting to create a genetically modified superhuman with 4 arms and 2 pairs of hands equipped with robotic-aerodynamic tools which will be used in the future to help fight off the aliens.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: We like to party! (The Vengabus)- Vengaboys. If you don’t know that tune, shut the front door and hit up Youtube.

Don’t be fooled by these blonde locks, this lady here is ready to VP your social! Now I know what you’re thinking, and no, you shouldn’t be scared, socialism is a great way to bond as an engineering collective. My counterpart, Kristina Kuffel, and I are positive we can make this year as social as speed dating (FYI it was a good experience, but I wouldn’t try it again). We have loads of great events planned for this year and I can’t wait to see everyone getting their social interactions on!

VP Finance | Amanda McKay

Email: vpfinance@guelphengsoc.com

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: Working on a project for hours and hours when really it is only worth 2%. What makes it all okay is that fact that everyone else is doing it too! I think that Guelph is a little different than other engineering schools since we work together a lot (maybe too much) and you’re always sharing ideas. The small feel of Guelph allows you to make tons of friends at the many Engineering activities (if you remember them…) and really enjoy the "work hard, play hard" motto.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: I think that my theme song would be Around the World by Daft Punk. When I am not working in a kitchen or studying in school I can probably be found exploring some random country or planning a new adventure.

VP Academic | Alexis Wagner

Email: vpacademic@guelphengsoc.com

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: The only place on campus where "go hard, or go home" is commonly accepted as the unofficial motto.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbPDKHXWlLQ

Honesty is the best policy, so I’m going to tell you straight up that I have an obsessive personality. Oatmeal, crayons, watermelon, sheep, the list goes on and on. I also have to admit that I plan to retire at 45 and start a sheep farm. Due to my aspirations, I lug around books on birthing lambs, interrogate the Aggies on their methodologies and show sheep at College Royal. Fortunately, studying is not one of my obsessions, so most of the time you can find me pretending I’m an arts major, spinning around in the computer lab chairs, eating sweet potatoes and running around at field hockey practice.

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: To me, it's the community. Between the students, faculty and staff, we all work like a large extended family. Random spats here and there but over all, helping each other out and having a great time doing it.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: Lovely Allen by Holy F*ck, it's full of just so much random wicked awesomeness, just like me, that simply makes you feel good.

This year I am your Technical Coordinator and will be facilitating some of the technical sides of EngSoc. This year I am revamping the EngSoc website, and aiming to host a seminar or two on the fears of programming, ooooouw. If you have any suggestions or comments about the labs, feel free to drop me an email!

If you had a theme song, what would it be?: If I had a theme song, it would be “with a little help from my friends” by the Beatles. If you know me, you know that I can sometimes be a scatterbrain/procrastinator/space cadet and I get by with a little help from my friends.

I'm a cool 4th year enviro, that's my thang. I'm hip, I surf the web, I text. LOL: laugh out loud, OMG: oh my god, WTF: why the face.

Special Events Coordinator | Caitlin Cain

Email: special@guelphengsoc.com
Program: Environmental Engineering Co-op
What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: Guelph Engineering means students helping each other. I've talked to engineering students at other schools, and the students at other schools seem to compete with each other and work individually. I find that at Guelph we work together and help each other out.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?:  Loca by Shakira because I spent my summer having random people call after me "Hey Shakira, come over here!" It seems the people of Morocco collectively decided that this would be an appropriate nickname for me. Sadly... I'm not even all that fond of Shakira.

I'll be your Special Events Coordinator and basically organise all the charity events for the fall. So I hope to see everyone out so that we can prove to the Guelph community that engineering students do care!

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: Knowing almost everyone in Thornbrough, being in the computer labs far to often, and have tons of fun at all the engineering events! I love Guelph Engineering, and I hope to hold some events that get the 1st and 2nd years pumped about it too! Can't wait :)
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: "You talk way to much" by the Strokes

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: It's seriously awesome, it really means that you will be having too much fun to sleep for the next 4 years.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: At Dawn We Rage by Life

Hey I'm from Ottawa and currently living in a cabin up in the Yukon (I don't even have running water). I'm going to be in charge of supplying you with cheep candy for those late nights in the lab. Just like everyone else on eng-soc I love engineering and can almost always be found in the engineering building (THRN) hanging out, generally by myself because I have very few friends. I think that is probably because (I believe) I'm a little bit cooler than maddie, and slightly more energetic than Carly.

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: Guelph Engineering is all about community. That means walking down the halls of Thornborough and not only recognizing everyone, but knowing them by name... then not making it to your next class because you get caught up chatting with all your friends!
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: Just Dance – Lady Gaga. It’s one of my top 25 most played and I enjoy busting out a good dance move on occasion. Especially the sprinkler, it’s a party favourite.

Heyo! I’m Emily (cool people call me Em) and I’m in my 4th and final (ahhhhh!!!!!) year of Environmental Engineering. I’m super stoked to be joining council as 4th year rep!

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: Guelph engineering is about building cool stuff with cool people. It's about the days you spent in the library and the nights that you really should have. It's about making friends and breaking routines. But most importantly, it's about having fun. Oh yeah, and passing. Passing is good too.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: I'll Make a Man Out of You from the Disney movie Mulan. I have never seen the movie but I know all the words and I am quite happy to belt them out on command. Not particularly well of course, but that's beside the point. You could ask me why I know them but it's much more fun if you just sing along. You must be swift as a courrrrrrsing riiiivvveeerrrrr!! With all the force of a great typhooonnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!........

1st Year Rep. | Shannon Hildebrandt

What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: It means finding our creative side, solving problems with born genius (well duh, we're engineers), balancing study time and good times, and being a part of an unreal community.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?: Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts

1st Year Rep. | Connor McKinnon

Email: mckinnod@uoguelph.ca
Program: Biomedical Engineering - Co-op 2016
What does Guelph Engineering mean to you?: It means the next 5 years of my life are going to be the best years of my life. It means I get to share my enthusiasm for sports, games, food, and building really cool shit with some truly awesome people. Engineers are some of the craziest and smartest and sexiest people you will ever meet… but then again I’m pretty biased on this subject.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?:

Liztomania – Phoenix because it’s just a very chill song and easy to listen to.
